Next up is the humble flashlight, reinvented recently through a range of ultra-bright units which generally go by the name of CREE Flashlights.

These things are seriously bright, use solid state technology and come in many sizes. Prices have come down massively. Winter and dark nights will never be a challenge again when you have one of these around.

I keep them at home for dog walking and a few smaller versions in the car etc.

Even this 7W mini CREE style flashlight is a great performer and costs less than three quid on eBay.
