Now I must confess that although this gadget is my favourite, I don’t actually own one! I saw this demonstrated on a photography stand which was show casing budget aerial photography options.

The Phantom DJI Vision 2 Quadcopter is just a sensational bit of kit. It’s top of my Christmas list. It combines two things I love: the thought of piloting a flying machine and photography/video.

Now I know why virtually every TV program I watch these days have those amazing aerial panning shots which are really is stunning especially in HD.

If you watch the BBC’s Coast program you’ll see evidence of quadcopter aerial shots throughout each show. Naturally not needing to invest in a full size helicopter and crew brings Hollywood style video sequences into the lives of everyday folk.
